ScaffCon24 is excited to announce the release of its full agenda for the UK’s leading scaffolding industry conference, set to take place on Friday, 11th October 2024 at the renowned Belfry Hotel and Resort.

Here are some key highlights:
Keynote Session: Tim Balcon, Chief Executive of CITB
Tim Balcon, CEO of the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), will kick off the event with insights on workforce development, skills training, and the future of the construction sector. With the scaffolding industry constantly evolving, this session will provide essential guidance on how businesses can stay competitive by addressing skills gaps and meeting workforce demands.
Temporary Works: Demystifying BS5975
This panel will break down the complexities of the BS5975 temporary works code of practice. Industry leaders Robin James (Temporary Works Forum), Karl Degroot (360 Degrees Consultancy), David Thomas (retired TWf), and Robert Candy (Scaffolding Association) will provide guidance on how to implement these standards effectively and ensure safety and compliance on-site.
Commercial Vehicle & Driver Updates
Richard Smith, MD of the Road Haulage Association (RHA) will be discussing their ongoing Truck Cartel legal action, followed by as session with Dan Harrington from the Road Haulage Association (RHA) who will focus on the upcoming Drivers CPC, Direct Vision Standard (DVS), changes and the specific challenges faced by scaffolding firms in managing their vehicle fleets.
NEW for this year, ScaffCon24 ends with an evening dinner dance, complete with a live band, DJ, casino, and a charity raffle supporting CRASH.org.uk, adding a relaxing and social element to the day’s events. The evening event follows feedback from previous attendees who requested more networking opportunities in a relaxed and sociable setting.
